AmCham Ukraine Annual Report 2021

“AmCham member companies have shown incredible resilience throughout the recent years in outfighting the COVID-19 consequences. Our member companies continue to help local communities, pay taxes, and create jobs, playing a crucial role in keeping Ukraine’s economy running despite all the difficulties.

It’s great to finally see an upbeat forecast from the vast majority of AmCham members on their companies’ financial health in 2021. We will continue to vigorously push for rule of law, and protection of investors’ rights, helping businesses to prosper and making Ukraine a better and more secure place to do business.

We are here to serve you. We will continue to stand up and speak up for you, our members, investors, and job creators. We will continue to fight for your business so you may invest, operate, and employ. We will continue being here for you, creating new opportunities for you to promote your services and brands.”

Andy Hunder
President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine

“Along with the entire global community, COVID-19 effects continue to impact Ukraine, though vaccinations have ramped up and the economy is rebounding. We are buoyed by the recent AmCham-Citi survey released in September 2021, indicating that relative to last year, during 2021, circa 2/3rds of members report higher revenue year-on-year, nearly 50% have increased their personnel, and over 1/3 have increased investments. Renewed cooperation between Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund, with $700 million disbursed in November and the program extended to June 2022; record-high foreign currency reserves at circa $30 billion, and Ukraine’s economy forecast to grow in excess of 3% in the coming year, provide further cause for optimism. During this year, AmCham’s dedicated and talented team, under the strong leadership of President Andy Hunder, and together with our Board and esteemed members, have achieved numerous policy wins, continued high-level engagement with government stakeholders, championed the protection of investor rights, and enhanced the business and investment climate in Ukraine. We are grateful to our members for their commitment and support and look forward to working together to make Ukraine a world-class destination for investment, innovation, and job creation. May you, your families, and colleagues enjoy the best of health, joy, abundance, and success during 2022 and in the years ahead!”
