Policy Progress: Parliament Passed Draft Law #4353 on Postal Services in the First Reading

On November 17, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed Draft Law #4353 "On Postal Services" (Draft Law) in the first reading. The Draft Law is developed to harmonize national legislation with the legislation of the European Union in the field of postal services by implementing the provisions of Directive 97/67/EC.

The Draft Law is aimed at ensuring the development of the postal sector in Ukraine, the introduction of common rules for the development of the internal market of postal services, and improving its quality.

Previously, the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine addressed the Parliament, providing detailed proposals and comments on the Draft Law during its consideration.

The Chamber welcomes passing Draft Law #4353 in the first reading, but at the same time stresses on the strong need to revise it between the first and second readings taking into account the business community's proposals.
