The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the adoption of amendments to licensing conditions for tour operators’ activities by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on May 22, 2019. The amendments are generally aimed at improvement of hospitality & tourism sector regulation.
According to adopted amendments, a tour operator should provide:
- financial guarantee to tourists in order to obtain the license
- information on the time of departure and in case of a flight delay, it should place information at own website and also inform the licensing body by e-mail
- information about travel agents he works with
- all necessary conditions for low-mobility groups to/in their places of residence during the trips
Non-fulfillment of any of these requirements may result in cancellation of the tour operator's license.
The Chamber welcomes this positive step in the right direction, at the same time there are still a number of steps to be taken on the way to further improving the hospitality & tourism sector in Ukraine.
