The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the adoption of the Cabinet of Ministers’ Resolution on Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) implementation developed jointly by the Ministry of Finance and State Customs Service.
The Resolution approves the procedure and algorithm for assessing compliance with the criteria of an Authorized Economic Operator, the form of documents to be submitted by companies, and issued by customs authorities to obtain the status of AEO.
The AEO concept developed by the World Customs Organization (WCO) is aimed at enhancing supply chain security. A company that demonstrates a high level of compliance with the legislation in its operations, meets the established criteria and received the AEO status, benefits from several customs simplifications.
The AmCham members have been continuously supporting the implementation of the AEO concept in Ukraine and provided their expertise and proposals to improve the draft bylaws, which were considered in the updated documents.
We want to thank Chamber Customs Committee Co-Chairs Anton Melnyk, EY and Vita Miroshnychenko, PwC as well as all members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine who were actively involved in this advocacy process for their contribution. The AmCham Working Group on AEO will continue its work to support the proper practical implementation of the AEO program.
