On June 17, 2026, the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine signed the Joint Declaration to Advance the Formation of the Tourism Alliance for Ukraine together with the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine and the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine.
The Tourism Alliance for Ukraine is envisioned as a collaborative and inclusive platform bringing together public and private stakeholders of Ukraine's tourism sector alongside international partners, donors, and expert institutions. The Alliance is designed to enable effective coordination, advocacy, promotion, and capacity-building, while advancing sustainable development and international competitiveness of Ukraine's tourism ecosystem.
The Declaration provides for cooperation across the following key areas:
- sustainability, cultural heritage, and identity preservation
- regional cooperation and destination development
- innovation, digital transformation, and institutional capacity-building
AmCham experts within the Working Group on Medical Tourism Hub and AmCham Hospitality & Tourism Committee have consistently advocated for a mechanism that enables business and government not merely to exchange positions, but to jointly shape the agenda from regulatory changes to concrete investment decisions. The signing of this Declaration is a practical step in that direction.
AmCham Ukraine will actively support the Tourism Alliance in becoming an effective, results-driven platform. Medical tourism is one priority area where tangible results can be achieved and showcased in the near term, given Ukraine's existing competitive advantages and the work already undertaken by the AmCham Working Group on Medical Tourism Hub, which systematically connects medical service providers, hotels, wellness centers, and operators into a single integrated offering.
AmCham Ukraine is grateful to First Deputy Minister Alona Shkrum and Chairperson Natalya Tabaka for their leadership and commitment to building a strong and competitive tourism ecosystem in Ukraine.
