The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the registration of Draft Law #5388 on deregulation of labor relations (Draft Law) in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The registered Draft Law, developed by the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine (Ministry), is aimed at modernization and liberalization of the labor legislation in Ukraine. It envisages:
- Reduction of the number of mandatory personnel documents;
- Simplification of the procedure for concluding a fixed-term employment contract;
- Defining a procedure for the employer to provide information on the terms of the employment contract;
- Change of the mechanism of trade unions’ participation while terminating an employment contract.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine is grateful to the Ministry, and in particular to Igor Dyadyura, Deputy Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine on Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization, for the development of this long-awaited legislative initiative. Meanwhile, the Chamber Human Capital Committee’s experts closely review the text of the registered Draft Law and will provide their proposals before its first reading in the Parliament. We are looking forward to working on this important Draft Law together with all the stakeholders, including the Parliamentary Committee on Social Policy and Veterans’ Rights Protection and the Ministry.
