On December 21, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed Draft Law #9573 amending certain legislative acts of Ukraine on streamlining the mechanism for transferring private underwater hydraulic structures located within the waters of seaports into state ownership (Draft Law) in the first reading.
AmCham member companies support the mentioned Draft Law, in case of taking into account the proposals and comments of the business community, and are convinced that the speedy adoption and implementation of the Draft Law's provisions will contribute to:
- determining peculiarities of the legal status and regulation of seaports' underwater hydraulic structures;
- streamlining relations related to the construction of new underwater hydraulic structures;
- applying a unified approach to the development of the maritime industry;
- stimulating investment attraction that is the most urgent issue for the post-war restoration of Ukraine's marine industry.
We look forward to the Draft Law's prompt adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the second reading and its soonest signing by the President of Ukraine.
