AmCham Ukraine welcomes registration of the Draft Law #8150 “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improvement of Legislative Requirements regarding Food and Feed Products, Veterinary Medicine, and Animal Welfare” (Draft Law) in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on October 24.
The Draft Law is aimed at harmonization of the current legislation in the field of food and feed safety, animal health and welfare with the European standards as well as its overall improvement.
Experts of the Chamber Food & Beverage Committee took an active part in the development of the Draft Law within the working group under the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. We welcome the inclusion of the majority of Chamber proposals in the Draft Law, and confirm our readiness to continue working on the improvement of its other provisions for streamlining the food safety legislation.
We are grateful to the experts of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and MPs, members of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, for the consistent and coordinated work on the Draft Law as well as to Chamber member companies’ experts for professional support and expertise.
