On June 30, 2023 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU) adopted the Draft Law #9011-d amending some laws of Ukraine on restoration and green transformation of the energy system of Ukraine.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (AmCham) welcomes the adoption of this Draft Law since strengthening the energy independence and security of Ukraine through the development of renewable energy is one of the main priorities of the AmCham Renewables Committee.
The business community expects that the Draft Law has the potential to influence not only the reduction of dependence on fossil fuels but also increase the investment attractiveness of the renewable energy sector in Ukraine.
We would like to express our gratitude to MP Andriy Gerus and the VRU Committee on Energy, Housing and Communal Services for an open and effective dialogue with the business community as well as the development of important legislative initiatives in the field of renewable energy. We also would like to encourage other stakeholders, primarily the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, to adopt all necessary bylaws to unlock the new opportunities for the renewable energy sector.
