On 10 April 2023, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, signed an order approving the composition of the Public Anti-Corruption Council under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The Commission is responsible for conducting the competition to form the Public Anti-Corruption Council under the Ministry of Defense, comprised of working group members who had decided not to participate in the elections to avoid a conflict of interest. The Commission decided to consider the 15 candidates who received the highest number of votes during the election as elected council members.
The Public Anti-Corruption Council under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is important for preventing corruption in the defence sector. The Council is established as part of the zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in the defence sector to ensure transparency, accountability, and prevention of corrupt practices within the defence department.
