Ukrainian Office of Avis Has Started Providing Electric Cars for Rental and Private Leasing

Avis Ukraine, one of the largest car rental and leasing market operators, has purchased the first 10 Volkswagen ID.5 electric vehicles produced in 2022 in Germany, which will be provided for rental and private leasing.

The Company became the first international car rental network operator in Ukraine to purchase modern European electric cars for its fleet.

Haim Kapelnikov, CEO of Avis Ukraine: "With the launch of the first batch of electric cars for rental and private leasing, we are launching a global project of gradual transition to electric cars. This is a new level of mobility based on environmentally responsible driving.

Our team in Ukraine has long listened carefully to the wishes of our service users, who expected us to launch a project that contributes to the green future of Ukraine. We have made every effort, time and money to offer high-quality electric cars to the market. We could have waited for the end of the war or a better moment, but Avis Ukraine's strategy is that the best moment is now. The Company has been working and operating at full capacity since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, supporting our customers and the Ukrainian economy. And may all those who have long dreamed of driving an electric car also feel it.

In the future, we will be even more active in electric scenarios, and we are working on a plan to introduce electric vehicles on a larger scale. However, this will take time, as the pace of transition to electric cars depends on the development of Ukraine's electric charging infrastructure."

Both mono- and all-wheel drive Volkswagen ID.5s have appeared in the Avis Ukraine fleet. All of them have a stylish design, comfortable quiet drive and are equipped with an automatic transmission. According to the manufacturer, the all-wheel drive ID.5 in GTX configuration has a power of 299 hp, a battery capacity of 77 kWh, a driving range of 420560 kilometres, and consumption (in combined mode) of 18.1 kWh/100 km. They are equipped with a heated steering wheel, a 12-inch navigation infotainment display, a rear-view camera, and matrix LED headlights with automatic control.

The front-wheel drive ID.5 Pro Performance has 204 hp, a battery capacity of 77 kWh, a range of 430-640 kilometres and consumption of 17.6 kWh/100 km in combined mode. They have alloy wheels, comfortable velour microfleece seats, LED headlights, wireless connectivity, heated front seats, and a multifunctional leather steering wheel with heated and touch-sensitive controls.

All cars are equipped with the necessary adapters for charging from public stations.

However, Avis Ukraine notes that it cannot guarantee the range of an electric vehicle specified by the manufacturer, as it will vary depending on a number of factors, including the load of the vehicle, driver actions such as speed and acceleration, climatic factors and terrain factors such as slopes.

According to Andrii Bovenko, Director of the Rental Department at Avis Ukraine, the first electric cars from the fleet of the Ukrainian office of Avis will be provided in Kyiv, and the Company plans to cover major cities in the future: Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Dnipro.

Andrii Bovenko: "We have been renting hybrid cars with a combination of electric and petrol engines for three years now, and we have some experience in servicing them. Such cars are in great demand because they save money that our users usually spend on fuel. The new electric cars are not only even more economical, but will also make a huge contribution to environmental protection in Ukraine.

If you've only dreamed of driving an electric car and haven't allowed yourself the pleasure, now is the time to make your dream come true, rent one for a period of one day to several months and feel like a happy owner of an electric car. The electric car rental service will give you the opportunity to answer all your questions about electric cars and experience all their advantages: mobility in the city centre, easy priority parking, quiet running and efficiency."

If you need an ID.5 electric car for a long term, from a year or more, Avis Ukraine recommends taking it on AvisMAX private leasing, with maximum service. The cost of using it per day will be much more favourable than when renting, you can pay monthly, and the use of the car provides a full all-inclusive service package, which includes everything from registration and full insurance to regular maintenance, tyre replacement and storage, delivery to the service station and return, as well as a replacement car if the repair takes more than a day. In other words, you can get a new electric car without significant savings.

Jean Tilman, Sales and Marketing Director at Avis Ukraine: "You may want to join the community of regular electric car users. We have a solution - private leasing, the term of which can be from one to four years, and then you can return the car to us or buy it back at the residual value.

Just imagine yourself swimming in a pool while we organise technical maintenance for you. You can save a lot of time for yourself, your family or your business, and time is the most valuable thing. Even if you have planned a trip by car and something happens to it, you will go there anyway because we will provide you with a replacement car. So, you can relax and enjoy the journey."

The ID.5 electric car can be rented or privately leased at the Avis Ukraine head office in Kyiv at 72 Yamska Street. Avis Ukraine managers provide instruction on the use of electric cars and tell you everything you need to know when you first drive an electric car. The cars are delivered fully charged - Avis Ukraine's Kyiv rental station is equipped with two 22 kW Yasno high-speed charging stations that allow to charge two electric vehicles simultaneously. If you have any questions during the rental period, our specialists will solve them over the phone at the hotline 0 800 305 303

To rent an electric car, the user must be at least 21 years old and have at least two years of driving experience. The availability of electric vehicles and the rental price for the selected period can be found on the hotline 0 800 305 303. The cost of an electric car for private leasing can be calculated with Pavlo Tryhuba, Avis Ukraine manager: +38 067 462 05 20
