Asters acts as a general partner of Ukrainian Concert Overture, the first national competition of composers dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. Participants are expected to create their own Ukrainian Concert Overture.
The contest is held by the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and Open Music of the City charitable foundation. 33 Ukrainian composers have submitted their music works to the competition. Based on the review of the professional jury of 6 authoritative experts in classical music top 6 works have been selected to be performed by the National Symphony Orchestra at the gala concert on 24 August 2021, Ukraine's Independence Day. The winner of the competition will be announced at the gala concert.
As a general partner, Asters has provided financial support and contributed to the contest's prize fund. The firm's experts also ensure transparency and integrity of the contest procedures.
"Solemn events in Ukraine often begin with Mykola Lysenko's overture to Taras Bulba opera created in 1890. This competition is an opportunity for composers to write a new up to date chapter in the national music history and we at Asters are honored to support creation of potentially another national musical symbol," – comments Armen Khachaturyan, Asters' Senior Partner. "Supporting arts has always been one of Asters' priorities as a socially responsible law firm. In 2009 we launched ArtAsters, a charity project intended to support, exhibit, and create awareness of Ukrainian arts within business community. In 2015 and 2021 Asters sponsored performances in Ukraine of a superstar American violinist Joshua Bell with the New Era Orchestra."
Asters has always viewed corporate social responsibility as an important part of its mission. In 2020 Asters was proclaimed as The most socially responsible law firm in Ukraine by the annual PLS Top Teams research held by Legal Practice weekly.
