The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the Order #1567 “On Approval of Amendment #2 to DBN V.2.5-56:2014 “Fire Protection Systems”, issued by the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine (the Ministry) on November 5.
The previously applicable norms were based on the outdated fire safety standards set out in the Ministry's Order #312, which required the installation of automatic fire-extinguishing systems at the premises of base stations and mobile communication repeaters. These requirements no longer reflect the technical specifications of modern telecommunications infrastructure.
The newly adopted Order clarifies the types of facilities for which fire protection systems are mandatory, including residential, public, industrial, and technical facilities, and updates their design provisions in line with EU standards.
AmCham member companies’ experts have consistently advocated for removing outdated fire protection norms in the telecom sector to ensure a predictable, modern approach and move Ukraine closer to European practices.
AmCham Ukraine expresses gratitude to all responsible stakeholders for maintaining an open dialogue and incorporating the proposals of the business community into the respective Order.
