The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine is delighted to announce the beginning of the nomination period for the 2024 Board of Directors, which starts TODAY, Monday, October 23, and will end at 5:00 PM local Kyiv time on Tuesday, November 7.
Each Director shall serve a term of 2 years and may be re-elected. The term of office of a Director shall terminate upon the expiry of such two-year term. This year our members through voting, will elect 10 Members to the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, who will serve throughout a two-year term. According to the Bylaws of the Chamber, there shall be not less than six (6) and not more than sixteen (16) Directors. The following 6 Board members continue serving for one more year of a two-year term, continuing to deliver the voice of business, as they identify the strategy and the vision of companies' priorities and needs in 2024:

For each Chamber Committee, we have a responsible Board Member; thus, the Board is actively involved in all Chamber activities and moving forward the agenda of different sectors and industries. The 2024 Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine will play a key role in developing and maintaining the Chamber through deep expertise, dedication, and professional teamwork.
For your convenience, to nominate a fellow member CEO or yourself, you may cut and paste the below wording to the member company's official letterhead, sign it, and send us a scanned copy of it to bodelections@chamber.ua.
"I, (name of the person nominating a candidate) on behalf of (member company name), a member in good standing of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, hereby nominate (name of the candidate) from (name of a member company the candidate works for), a member in good standing, to be included into online election page for the 2024 Chamber Board of Directors' election pursuant to their qualification and subsequent acceptance."
Excerpt from the Chamber By-Laws concerning qualifications for Board of Directors nominations:
"Only an employee who holds the highest representative position of a member company in good standing can be nominated to run for the Chamber Board of Directors. Any employee of a member company in good standing may nominate a candidate."
Nominations must be received via email bodelections@chamber.ua on scanned member company official letterhead starting on Monday, October 23 and finishing on Tuesday, November 7, 5:00 PM local Kyiv time to be included in the online election page. Any nominations received before the opening date or after the closing date will not be included in the online election page.
Serving on the Board of Directors is your opportunity to have a direct impact on the future of your organization. The current Board of Directors encourages all member companies in good standing to run for the 2024 Board of Directors.

Monday, October 23. Nominations open
Tuesday, November 7. Nominations close at 5:00 PM local Kyiv time (all required info for the Chamber online election page is due)
Thursday, November 16. Chamber online election page published; online voting begins
Thursday, November 16. Online/in-person event "Get to Know the Candidates"
Wednesday, December 6. Online voting ends at 5:00 PM local Kyiv time
Thursday, December 7. Annual General Membership Meeting. Announcing results of the Board of Directors Elections
Tuesday, December 12. First Board Meeting
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Please note that this year all voting will be again conducted in electronic format starting when the online election page is published and will end on Wednesday, December 6 (5:00 PM local Kyiv time), the day before the official announcement of the election results.
About the Chamber Board of Directors Elections:
The current Board of Directors believes the ideal candidate holds the highest representative position of a member company and has the ability to offer insight and perspective on developing and communicating business priorities of the Chamber membership to Ukrainian lawmakers as well as other important policymakers while influencing initiatives and decisions impacting the overall business climate in Ukraine.
Among the criteria, the current Board of Directors feels important for a successful candidate to have:
- ability to devote time to monthly Board meetings and attend relevant Chamber events
- willingness to take a leadership position in ensuring the Chamber Committee agendas are productive and pertinent to the Chamber goals and objectives
- ability to represent the Chamber at a senior level in meetings and discussions with Ukrainian and international government policymakers
