Unilever Ukraine continues its operation adapting to conditions of the wartime. The safety of our people is our key priority. On February 24th we temporally stopped the processes for the safety of our employees. Because of military aggression, our warehouses and tea factory were fully destroyed. But at the end of March, the company started resuming its work, rebuilding the supply chain functioning. Since the first days of the war, we actively supported our employees and provided humanitarian aid for Ukrainians affected by the Russian invasion.
Support of our people:
- Unilever Ukraine has continued to fulfill its obligations: paying full salaries for all employees, keeping all benefits, and providing employees with additional financial support.
- The company has helped employees with evacuation and relocation, and support with accommodation.
- All employees have the opportunity to use the company's transport both in Ukraine and abroad.
- We prepared full stock of essential food products and medicines for employees and their family members.
- All Unilever employees and their family members have access to 24/7 psychological assistance.
- Employees who temporarily moved to Eastern Europe countries and currently are unable to perform their regular job duties in Ukraine have been offered to gain new experience on the international level in Unilever based on their current location.
- Foreign language courses for employees abroad were provided.
- In terms of the interruption of electricity and water supply we have prepared the needed equipment (power stations, batteries, power banks, LED Flashlight, etc.) to supply our employees and ensure their safety and well-being.
Unilever humanitarian mission to support Ukrainians affected by Russian invasion:
- Unilever never stays aside. Therefore, since the beginning of the war, we passed to UNICEF, UNHCR, and other NGOs food, hygiene, and personal care products worth €5 million in order to provide Ukrainians with essential goods.
- Eastern Europe team has organized an informal volunteer organization to support refugees from Ukraine at the borders.
- Our employees from all over the world have actively supported our company-matching program and collected a significant amount of financial aid to support Ukrainians.
Unilever Ukraine works to provide essential goods for Ukrainians, support the economy and serve Ukrainian society. We condemn the war in Ukraine as a brutal and senseless act by the Russian state. Unilever joins calls for an end to this war and hopes that peace, human rights, and the international rule of law will prevail.
