The AmCham Ukraine welcomes the revised decision of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations recommending the Verkhovna Rada to adopt Draft Law #9162 “On the Basic Principles of the State Agrarian Policy and State Policy for Rural Development” (hereinafter - Draft Law) in the first reading.
The Draft Law foresees a plan for comprehensive reform of the agricultural sector of Ukraine and approximation to the EU standards. In addition, the Draft Law stipulates increasing competitiveness of the Ukrainian agrarian sector and its products, increasing export of agricultural products, introducing new mechanisms for supporting and stimulating the development of certain industries, as well as increasing employment of rural population.
The AmCham Ukraine has already expressed its support to Draft Law #9162 and we are looking forward to its adoption in the first reading and in general.
