The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the adoption of Draft Law # 4314 “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Prevention” (Draft Law) by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The Draft Law envisages:
- implementation of accelerated approval of clinical trials of vaccines and other medicines for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19;
- implementation of accelerated registration of biological medicines, aimed at treatment or specific prevention of COVID-19;
- respective changes for extension of Law #539-IX “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine regarding Provision of Treatment of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)” in the wording of June 27, 2020.
The Chamber Healthcare Committee experts are continuously working and advocating for simplification of the introduction of COVID-19 prevention treatment and vaccines in Ukraine. Experts of the Chamber member companies were actively engaged in the development of this Draft Law, in particular provided proposals and comments for the settlement of its provisions.
Therefore, the Chamber welcomes this step aimed at facilitating the effective national COVID-19 response.
