The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the Government's decision to amend the Resolution “On Road Traffic Regulation” that simplifies procedure for obtaining permits for the movement of agricultural machinery.
Previously, it was obligatory to obtain a special permit issued by the National Police and the State Automobile Roads Agency of Ukraine for the movement of agricultural machinery by public roadways. In order to obtain this permit one had to pay special permit fees. Moreover, the permit was granted only for each separate trip and for each piece of equipment. Consequently, the process of obtaining such permits took a long time that had a negative impact on the fieldworks.
From now on, obtaining permits for movement of agricultural machinery from 2.6 m to 3.75 m wide is not necessary provided that special road safety obligations are met.
Experts of the Chamber Working Group on Agricultural Machinery have been actively participating in the process of finalization of the mentioned Resolution with the aim to simplify conditions for doing business in the agricultural sector and to eliminate corruption risks in the field of movement of agricultural machinery. The business community is looking forward to proper practical implementation of the Resolution’s provisions before the start of the fieldwork seasosn.
