The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes adoption of Draft Law #7473 on Authorized Economic Operators Concept (AEO) in the first reading by the Parliament.
The concept of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) developed by the World Customs Organization (WCO) is aimed at enhancing supply chain security. A company demonstrating a high level of compliance with the legislation in its operations, meeting the established criteria and having the AEO status benefits from several customs simplifications.
Chamber Members have been continuously supporting the implementation of the AEO concept in Ukraine and are ready to share their expertise for further improving Draft Law #7473 to the second reading.
We would like to thank Robert Zeldi, EY Ukraine, Head of the Task Force on AEO, Igor Dankov, EY Ukraine, Co-Chair of the Chamber Customs Committee and all Members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, who were actively involved in this advocacy process, for their contribution.
At the same time, the Task Force on AEO will continue its work as some provisions of Draft Law #7473 limit the possibilities for using simplified customs procedures stipulated in the current wording of the Customs Code of Ukraine and need to be improved during the further elaboration of the Draft Law in the Parliamentary Committee on Tax and Customs Policy before the second reading. Thus, we encourage all interested Chamber Members to join the Task Force's activities.
