On January 17, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Healthcare System Development Strategy until 2030 (Strategy) and approved an operational plan for its implementation in 2025-2027.
The Strategy defines three key goals for the Ukrainian healthcare system:
- ensuring universal access of the population to high-quality medical services and tools for implementing the right to health;
- strengthening intersectoral coordination of public policy affecting the healthcare system;
- creating conditions for the development and realization of the potential of the national healthcare system.
AmCham’s proposals regarding implementation of access to medical devices issue were included in the Strategy, particularly:
- task on establishing and ensuring the institutional capacity of a central executive body with a special status that implements state policy in the field of creation, market authorization, quality control, safety, and efficiency of medical goods;
- task regarding regulation and facilitation of the use of innovative medical goods in the context of introducing, using, and seeking opportunities to apply modern technologies and scientific achievements to preserve and promote health;
- measure to ensure monitoring of open data during procurement of medical devices.
AmCham is grateful to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for considering the above-mentioned changes and looks forward to further collaboration regarding advancing Ukraine’s healthcare system.
