The “Brave in Spirit” project, implemented by Mondelēz Ukraine in partnership with Blagomay Charitable Foundation, has been named a laureate of the international Zero Project Award 2026. The awards ceremony took place at the United Nations Office in Vienna.
The goal of the “Brave in Spirit” project is to improve access to rehabilitation and recovery services for residents of war-affected communities. In 2024–2025, with financial support from Mondelēz International, the project delivered more than 150 units of modern rehabilitation equipment to ten medical centers in Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipro.
The equipment is used for physical therapy, mobility restoration, and functional rehabilitation of patients. Another key component of the project was professional training for specialists, which strengthened the capacity of rehabilitation facilities to operate in line with modern standards. Over the past two years alone, around 17,000 patients have received the necessary support thanks to this equipment.
“This recognition highlights the importance of investing in solutions that create long-term value for people and for the healthcare system. At Mondelez Ukraine, we continue to consistently support initiatives that improve access to quality medical services and contribute to the resilience of local communities,” said Yaroslav Liakhovych, Corporate and Government Affairs Manager at Mondelēz Ukraine.
About the Zero Project Award
Zero Project is an international initiative founded in 2008 by a non-governmental organization in Austria. It is dedicated to identifying and promoting innovative solutions that remove barriers and support the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This year, 586 nominations from 93 countries were submitted for the award and evaluated by more than 400 international experts. As a result, 75 initiatives from 51 countries were selected; “Brave in Spirit” was the only project from Ukraine among the winners. The 2026 selection focused on accessibility, digital solutions, and crisis response, areas in which “Brave in Spirit” demonstrated measurable and sustainable social impact.
