Sayenko Kharenko acted as Ukrainian legal counsel to the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) in providing a EUR 3.17 million loan facility to Ristone Holdings, a leading agro-industrial holding in south-eastern Ukraine.
The financing was provided under EIFO’s Ukraine Facility, which was established as a loan and guarantee scheme to provide long-term loans and guarantees for Danish exports to and investments in Ukraine. The facility to Ristone Holdings will support the group’s efforts to increase its production capacity, including the purchase of equipment from Alfa Laval, a global leader in the supply of innovative solutions for separation, heat transfer and fluid handling in food processing.
“It’s precisely because of projects like this that EIFO is active in Ukraine. Our loan finances processing equipment for a vegetable oil refinery, making it easier for our customer to export, which has long been a major challenge for a sector that is incredibly important for Ukraine. It is simply amazing to witness the determination and willingness to invest in Ukrainian business and the willingness of Danish companies to contribute. We have now made 15 deals in Ukraine and hope to make many more,” says Mathias Secher, Head of Strategy and Analysis at EIFO.
“This is yet another example of a truly remarkable level of support from our partners at EIFO and the people of Denmark. This financing goes beyond helping Ukraine’s private sector during a challenging time — it lays the ground for long-term economic collaboration and strengthens the ties between our countries. We are pleased to have played a role in this project and look forward to seeing the lasting impact of such partnerships,” commented Anton Korobeynikov, partner at Sayenko Kharenko.
The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) is a government-backed institution that supports Danish exports and international investments to foster economic growth.
Sayenko Kharenko’s team advising on the transaction was led by partner Anton Korobeynikov with support from Vladyslava Mitsai, Polina Savinska, Artem Medvetskyi, and Mykola Suprunovych.
