The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine was pleased to host a meeting with Mr. Oleksii Sobolev, First Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and his team, dedicated to the preparations for the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2025), which will take place in Rome in July.
The discussion addressed a number of key topics, including technical and logistical arrangements, the strategic focus of the conference, and the Ministry’s vision for policy-level engagement with stakeholders. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of international financial institutions (IFIs) and development finance institutions (DFIs) in supporting Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction efforts.
According to the Ministry of Economy, URC 2025 is expected to welcome:
- approximately 1,500 representatives of the business community
- more than 500 representatives from civil society organizations
- more than 500 representatives of local communities and administrations, in addition to official delegations, media, and other international stakeholders
The primary objective of this year’s Conference is to mobilize investment into Ukraine, laying the foundation for sustainable recovery and economic growth. Projects presented at URC 2025 will also serve as a basis for continued discussion and development during the forthcoming Rebuild Ukraine Conference in Warsaw.
The program will also feature a dedicated panel on the implementation of the Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund Agreement, marking a significant step forward in the institutional framework for recovery.
The sectoral focus of URC 2025 will include:
- Energy and Renewable Energy
- Infrastructure, Transportation, and Logistics
- Defense and Strategic Industries
- Production, Processing, and Agriculture
- Critical Materials, Mining, and Quarrying
- Innovation, High Technology, and Digital Transformation
- Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)
