The coronavirus pandemic and quarantine regulations have exacerbated problems in many areas - economic, medical, educational and social. Vulnerable groups, including families in difficult circumstances and children, suffered the most.
Last year alone, Ukraine`s National Social Service identified more than 32,000 new families in difficult life situations. More than 5,000 children were left without parental care.
Social orphanhood prevention is one of the key functions of the “City of Goodness” in Chernivtsi. Alexander Lopatin, the co-founder of the American-Ukrainian company ITW Systems, and the center's founder, Marta Levchenko have known each other for a long time.
The center for social services and the shelter for mothers with children in need is located in a four-storey building. They come here from all over Ukraine to live for free. The “City of Goodness” has 27 rooms and can accommodate up to 80 people. Women are provided with everything they need, but the main condition of living is that the mother must study to get a profession and job.
ITW Systems took part in the development of the shelter as well. The company donated LED lights of its own production - for premises, facade and street. ITW Systems believe - those who carry the light of kindness deserve the best lights literally.
And recently the company presented the kids with a new TV.
Given the economic situation in Ukraine and the pandemic, supporting vulnerable social groups is important. Therefore, ITW Systems urges business representatives to join socially significant projects, in particular to support the "City of Goodness".
