Letter from US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo to AmCham Ukraine and its members

UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
Secretary of Commerce
Washington, D.C.

November 30, 2022

Ukraine Dear American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine:

It is my honor to congratulate the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine on the occasion of its 30th anniversary and annual meeting.

The U.S. Department of Commerce remains committed to partnering with the Chamber and its members to strongly support Ukraine in the face of Russia’s unprovoked and brutal attacks. Thank you for tirelessly advocating for the American business community in Ukraine and for encouraging substantive reforms that will improve the business climate for all companies in the market, advance bilateral commercial cooperation, and support mutual economic growth through exports, investments and jobs. This work is especially vital to supporting Ukraine’s fight for freedom and has never been more important.

The Chamber continues to support the business community in a time of unprecedented challenges. The resilience and perseverance demonstrated by your staff, your member companies, and their employees and families are inspiring. The Chamber’s determination to convene and host U.S. Ambassador Brink on November 15, only hours after a barrage of Russian attacks on Kyiv and infrastructure around Ukraine, is a testament to your resolve and commitment to your mission.

Looking ahead to Ukraine’s post-war economic recovery and transformation, I know we have shared goals. After tens of billions of dollars in damage, the reconstruction task that stands before Ukraine is massive. This is a task that government and the private sector will need to tackle together. I know you and your members will continue to come together to support Ukraine now and during its reconstruction. Thank you again for all that you have done and will do as you set the Chamber’s goals and priorities for the years ahead.

Sincerely,
Gina M. Raimondo
