INTEGRITES successfully secured interests of Epiroc (Sweden), one of the global leaders in production of rock drilling equipment, in the safeguard investigation on the imports of three-cone drill bits into Ukraine regardless of country of origin and export. The firm’s International Trade lawyers managed to stop the investigation initiated by the Ukrainian manufacturer of three-cone drill bits, Universal Drilling Technique LLC, without applying safeguard measures on the client.
The strategy of the practice that advised Epiroc throughout all stages of the investigation, included instruments of legal and economic defence. As the investigation has been closed without applying any safeguard measures, Epiroc will be able to retain the volume of products supplied to Ukraine, the market share in the region and in Ukraine, as well as its qualified personnel.
In addition, the result of the investigation in favour of Epiroc will have a positive impact on the international economic interests of Ukraine, mainly on its trade with the EU: consumers will have access to imported products and the market competition will be developing. The threat of complete monopolization of the market and unreasonable price increase by the applicant has been eliminated.
