International law firm CMS is proud and honoured to support the Superhumans Center, a state-of-the-art prosthetics and rehabilitation medical centre in Ukraine, in receiving USD 25 million in political risk insurance from the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
The political risk insurance for Superhumans is strong support that not only secures the continuing operation of the centre, but also gives the necessary confidence to donors to maintain and extend their funding for the project.
With this support, Superhumans increases its credibility in the view of large international donors. It will be able to expand to other regions and provide free prosthetics, rehabilitation, reconstructive surgery, and psychological support to more Ukrainians injured in the war, as well as invest in research and development, attracting professionals from countries around the world to support the centre’s advancements.
Tetyana Dovgan, corporate/M&A partner at CMS, commented: “At CMS, we are deeply committed to leveraging our legal expertise on a pro-bono basis for meaningful and impactful initiatives. We are very honoured to support our long-standing clients and the founders of Superhumans, Andriy Stavnitser and Philipp Grushko, not only in the largest M&A transactions in Ukraine, but also with such vital projects as Superhumans.”
Kateryna Chechulina, counsel in CMS’s banking and finance team who led the work, added: “The Superhumans Center is an incredibly important initiative that brings many ‘superhumans’ back to a full life, and we are honoured to be playing a part in that and supporting Superhumans in their further growth.”
The CMS team assisting the Superhumans Center included Tetyana Dovgan, Kateryna Chechulina, Mykhaylo Soroka and Ihor Pavliukov.
