On 15 May 2024, Asters and the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) presented A SCREAM OF SILENCE exhibition within the long-standing project ArtAsters promoting Ukrainian art.
The exhibition includes selected works by renowned Ukrainian artist Vira Barynova-Kuleba. Her works have been exhibited in Ukraine, Switzerland, China, the United States, Hungary, Germany, Great Britain, and France. Many of her paintings are held in collections of Ukrainian and foreign museums, as well as by private collectors worldwide, and have been auctioned at Sotheby’s and Christie’s.
Asters' Senior Partner Armen Khachaturyan comments: "Despite of the war and as its emotional reflection, Asters and USUBC hosted a second war-time exhibition in the ArtAsters program. This is also the second sole exhibition of Vira Barynova-Kuleba in ArtAsters since 2011. We are so happy to welcome this wonderful come-back and are grateful for her amazing ability to accurately and skilfully depict in her artworks Ukraine's history – tragic and hopeful, old and modern. This art teaches and educates, thrills and inspires, strengthens will and blesses future. It also assures that suffering leads to eventual happiness. We all need this assurance in this difficult time."
The President of the USUBC Morgan Williams mentions: "I am pleased and proud that Asters and USUBC are continuing their cooperation and promoting Ukrainian art even during wartime. I believe that art helps not only to capture historical moments, as Ukrainian artist Vira does brilliantly, but also to live through them. ArtAsters and USUBC will continue to develop and promote Ukrainian art and encourage more people to fall in love with it. I was so impressed with Vira's work that I keep six of her original paintings in my private collection. These paintings were also presented in this ArtArters exhibition."
ArtAsters is Asters' CSR project aimed at the support and popularization of Ukrainian contemporary art. Launched in 2009, the project is designed to benefit Ukrainian artists and create additional opportunities to display their works in a gallery-like office space for Asters' employees, clients and guests.
The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) is a private not-for-profit business trade association representing the interests of the U.S. businesses active in Ukraine and the Ukrainian businesses active in or related to the U.S. markets.
