AmCham welcomes the decision to restore the independence of anticorruption agencies in Ukraine

The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes Parliament's adoption today of Draft Law #13533 as a step to restoring the independence of Ukraine's anti-corruption institutions: the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO).

Rule of law, real and effective judicial reform, fair justice, a transparent selection of judges at all levels, and adherence to the independence of the National Bank, the Antimonopoly Committee, and the anti-corruption agencies are among AmCham's 10 Strategic Priorities for Ukraine's Economic Recovery.

AmCham firmly believes that the stability and predictability of the rule of law are essential to building investors' trust and attracting large-scale capital to Ukraine. Businesses are ready to invest, expand, and create jobs – but this depends on trust in an impartial judiciary, the independence of anti-corruption institutions, and a reliable and consistent legal framework.

AmCham looks forward to continued efforts to strengthen the independence of anti-corruption institutions, which is essential for economic growth and fostering a predictable, transparent, and investor-friendly business environment.
