The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine established a brand-new Medical Services Providers Committee.
The new Committee will serve as a platform for interaction and effective dialogue between private healthcare service providers, Government, and non-governmental organizations.
The new Committee's mission is to transform the healthcare sector in Ukraine through active dialogue with stakeholders and developing opportunities for business partnerships.
On the occasion of the establishment of the Medical Services Providers Committee, Andy Hunder, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, commented: “We are proud to launch the Medical Services Providers Committee within the AmCham Policy Platform. With the development of healthcare reform, we see that many important decisions on the occurring changes are made in the absence of a clear, consolidated position by private healthcare providers. We aim to bring together healthcare companies to effectively transform the healthcare sector and strengthen their leadership in the process.”
The Committee's work will focus on three main priorities:
- Changes in legislation aimed at implementation of co-payment for medical services provided within government programs
- Harmonization of licensing conditions and standards of medical help with European licensing conditions and standards
- Involvement of private healthcare providers in measures to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic
In the long term perspective, the Committee's goal is to support a sustainable healthcare system and a healthy society at large.
The Chamber member companies have immense experience and ideas accumulated over the years, and they are ready to share them with others. Uniting and consolidating the efforts of private companies-providers of medical services in Ukraine will make it possible to implement positive changes in the healthcare sector and ensure the mutual strengthening of the private and public sectors' efforts in providing citizens with quality medical services.
