The meeting was devoted to a discussion of the Accountability and Capacity-building for Customs Oversight and Reform Development (ACCORD) Project implementation.
This initiative was launched at the end of 2023 in response to the challenges faced by Ukrainian customs, including the ongoing full-scale war and the anticipated start of negotiations of Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU). The project is designed for three years and is implemented with the EU support.
The project's primary objectives are focused on improving the transparency, accountability, and efficiency of the State Customs Service of Ukraine as well as making recommendations for the modernization of its activities in accordance with the EU standards and requirements. It will contribute to promoting Ukraine's economic security, a crucial aspect in the context of post-war recovery.
