Law #2923-IX of February 23, 2023 is the central regulatory act governing the reconstruction of real estate and the mechanism for paying compensation for housing damaged or destroyed as a result of the war. The adoption of this law was an important step in ensuring the social protection of citizens, which defined the legal and organizational framework for the state to provide compensation for damaged and destroyed certain categories of real estate as a result of hostilities and terrorist acts caused by the military aggression of the russian federation.
In October 2023, the President of Ukraine signed Law of Ukraine #3410-IX, which amended Law of Ukraine #2923-IX and launched the third phase of the comprehensive housing restoration program on January 1, 2024.
