Knowledge Seminar "Minimization of Tax Risks in Post-Quarantine Period"

Date:
July 7, 2020
Time:
11:00AM - 1:00PM
Knowledge Seminar

Despite the fact that your business in compliance with the legislation, its activity may bear risks, including tax. Is it possible to completely avoid the risks? Unfortunately, no. This is due to the many gaps and inaccuracies in tax laws, the complexity of the regulation of legal issues or simply the human factor – the unintended errors in the actions of employees, deficiencies in their skills, ignorance of current practice on disputed issues. But even these risks can be minimized.

In particular, during the seminar, we considered the following issues:

  • Empty state treasury vs. unscheduled tax audits: what to expect from the tax authorities after the end of quarantine? Reasons for the tax audits
  • The company received a tax request: how to respond to it and what tax risks does it carry? COVID benefits and possible tax consequences of their application
  • What should every company know about unscheduled and actual tax audits? An appeal against such an inspection in court. What are the risks of an unscheduled inspection?

Speaker:

Valeria Tarasenko, Tax Consultant, Dentons. Valeria specializes in tax law and settlement of tax disputes. She advises national and multinational companies on tax structuring and tax planning, assessment of tax risks, cross-border taxation and application of international tax treaties as well as on matters related to OECD's Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS).
