Knowledge Seminar

The imposition of martial law in Ukraine has raised a wide range of labour issues. Is it possible to dismiss employees during the war? How to deal with employees who are abroad? Are there any grounds for delay in salary payment? The situation is complicated by the adoption of the new Law "On the organization of labour relations during martial law", which establishes a number of completely new tools for employers and employees.

During the webinar, we discussed the main changes in the regulation of labour relations during the war, as well as analyzed the practical cases of business that continues to operate under extremely difficult external circumstances.

During the meeting, we discussed:

  • Labour relations during the war: remote work, downtime, vacations, concluding contracts with new employees (probationary period, fixed-term employment contracts)
  • Dismissal of employees and suspension of employment for the period of martial law
  • Delay in salary payment, transfer and change of substantial working conditions, increase of working hours, reduction of rest time
  • Guarantees of labour rights for mobilized employees and volunteers of territorial defense, reservation of employees at the enterprise, actions of the employer in case the employee receives a mobilization notice or joins the Armed Forces or territorial defense
