Digital transformation programs are moving from planning to reality across all sectors. There is much evidence that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on digital transformation speed. Thus, incumbents are increasingly migrating to the cloud using other innovative technologies (such as Artificial Intelligence, big data, and Internet of Things technologies) along the way. That said, historically, regulated sectors such as financial institutions have seen significant barriers, including traditional regulation and data protection requirements.
Participants had an opportunity to discuss innovative ways to approach the digital transformation challenge and related regulatory aspects.
Speakers:
Maksym Hlotov, Senior Associate, Baker McKenzie. Maksym joined Baker McKenzie in 2007. He studied International Financial and Corporate Law at the University of London and European and International Law at the University of Brussels. Maksym worked in Kyiv banking regulatory and capital markets practice before spending 1 year with Brussels' European and Competition Law practice. Maksym is now responsible for coordinating Kyiv office work within the financial services, FinTech and digital transformation of the financial institutions' sectors. Maksym also acts as the secretary of the Banking & Finance Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association.
Ruslan Kolodyazhnyi, Chief Technical Officer & Head of R&D, Wirex. Ruslan is also the chairman of the Banking Commission of the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce. Ruslan has 12 years of experience in fintech, holding expertise in blockchain and cryptocurrencies, start-up development, development of payment solutions, online banking, and creation of technological solutions and products.
