On December 4, the Government of Ukraine adopted its Resolution “On Implementation of a Pilot Project regarding Admission of Private Locomotives to Operation of Separate Routes on Public Railway Tracks”.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the Government's decision as access of private traction will allow to partially resolve the issue with lack of Ukrzaliznytsia's traction rolling stock and conduct testing of the rail transportation market functioning under the conditions of several railway carriers, work on technical and technological security features.
Chamber member companies’ experts already submitted a number of proposals regarding participation in pilot projects on private traction to the Ministry of Infrastructure, so we are looking forward to successful implementation of mentioned initiative.
