The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and the U.S. Government are strengthening their partnership in humanitarian response. Recently, a URCS team, together with the U.S. delegation, visited one of Kyiv’s districts that had been heavily affected by large-scale strikes.
At the site of the strike, Ukrainian Red Cross representatives briefed the delegation on humanitarian response mechanisms following attacks, including the work of emergency response teams. They also spoke about the assistance provided to affected people in the first hours after an emergency. The parties additionally discussed cooperation between the Ukrainian Red Cross and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as well as engagement with international partners.
U.S. Government support enables the Ukrainian Red Cross to respond more rapidly to emergencies in Kyiv and frontline regions. The provided equipment and technical assistance help our teams reinforce the State Emergency Service in responding to the consequences of shelling and support people affected by the war.
The Ukrainian Red Cross is open to cooperation with businesses, donors, and international partners — together, we help those who need it most.
