INTEGRITES has successfully defended the interests of a globally present player in the virtual assets market and succeeded in cancelling the freeze of the client's virtual assets in the amount of approx. USD 20 million in Ukraine.
In early 2024, the client, who operates outside of Ukraine, found out that a Ukrainian court had frozen its virtual assets of approximately USD 20 million at the request of the law enforcement authorities.
Coordinated work of the entire team allowed to collect sufficient evidence to prove that the client's virtual assets had been frozen illegally and without any proper justification. As a result, the lawyers of INTEGRITES succeeded in cancelling the freeze in court, allowing the virtual assets to be unblocked and disposed of without restrictions.
The team that worked on the release of the assets from the freeze consisted of Dmytro Marchukov, the Co-Head of Cross-Border Litigation Practice, Kristina Shyposha, the Head of Business Protection, Compliance and Anti-Corruption Practice, Marta Hrunska, Senior Associate, as well as Dariia Hoshtuk and Severyn-Mykola Pshevlotskyi, Paralegals.
