CMS has advised MND a.s., a Czech energy group, on its acquisition of a 50% share in the 54.6 MWh Oriv wind power plant in Ukraine.
CMS provided comprehensive support throughout the transaction, including both the due diligence and transactional stages.
The construction of the Oriv wind power plant commenced in 2021, with the final wind turbine installed in 2023, after the war in Ukraine began. The Oriv wind power plant is expected to have an annual production of 150 GWh.
The CMS team in Kyiv was led by Vitaliy Radchenko, (Managing Partner and head of Energy & Climate Change) and included Mariana Saienko and Ihor Pavliukov (Corporate/M&A), Maryna Ilchuk and Maksym Zhurakovskyi (Energy & Climate Change); Ihor Olekhov and Ivan Pshyk (Banking & Finance), Olga Belyakova, Mykola Heletiy and Oleksandr Sytnyk (Competition).
Vitaliy Radchenko, managing partner of CMS in Ukraine, said: “We are delighted to have supported our long-standing client MND in the successful acquisition of a stake in the Oriv wind power plant, one of the very few wind power plants commissioned in Ukraine after the war broke out. It is even more inspiring to see MND investing in and driving the sustainable future of Ukraine despite the war.”
