The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes introduction of “short-haul” service enabling users of gas transmission system to transport gas between European countries (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and, in future, Romania) via Ukraine’s Gas Transmission System by booking transmission capacities under attractive tariffs.
The Chamber has supported establishment of competitive tariffs for natural gas transmission between certain cross-border exit and entry points to the gas transmission system to ensure the efficient use of the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System capacities. The launch of “short haul” service may boost gas trade between European countries and increase revenues from natural gas transit through the territory of Ukraine, while providing access for traders to the markets of Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania via Ukraine’s Gas Transmission System under “short haul” service.
