Following the successful privatisation of distilleries owned by the state alcohol producer Ukrspyrt in 2022, the Ukrainian government has announced a privatisation auction of the Ust-Dunaisk Seaport located in the Odesa region. This auction will be a milestone in the Ukrainian privatisation since it will be the first privatisation of a seaport since 1991.
The seaport will be sold as a small-scale asset through the Prozorro.Sale electronic procurement system. The initial auction will take place on 17 January 2023 with a starting price of UAH 60 mln (ca. EUR 1.5 mln).
Ust-Dunaisk was one of the first seaports to resume work after Russa’s invasion of Ukraine and now plays an invaluable role in Ukrainian food export, having handled more than 153,000 tons of grains since 1 April 2022.
