On February 17, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the Draft Law #6306 "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine to Improve the Provision of Medical Care" (Draft Law) in the first reading.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (the Chamber) welcomes the improvement of medical care, which is important for further healthcare reform in Ukraine, particularly in the part of ensuring the reimbursement of medical devices. Reimbursement of medical devices is important for a number of nosologies, including improvement of the administration and effectiveness of treatment, as well as patients’ adherence to treatment.
Jointly with the Parliamentary Committee on Public Health, Medical Assistance, and Medical Insurance (the Committee), changes were elaborated to improve access to medical devices.
At the same time, some issues that still have to be improved remain in the Draft Law. In this context, the Chamber looks forward to further fruitful dialogue with stakeholders.
The Chamber member companies’ experts provided professional support and expertise in the development process of the Draft Law. The Chamber will continue to facilitate the process of Ukraine’s healthcare system transformation.
