On April 16, 2024, the President of Ukraine signed Law of Ukraine #3633-IX amending certain legislative acts of Ukraine on issues of military service, mobilization, and military registration (the Law), which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on April 11, 2024.
Experts of the Chamber member companies developed and addressed a number of proposals and comments to the respective Draft Law at every stage of its consideration. Among the key proposals that were taken into account in the final version of the Law are the following:
- exclusion of provision regarding the application of such measures of influence as the seizure of funds and other valuables and a temporary restriction in the right to travel outside Ukraine to violators of military registration rules
- abolition of the obligation to register the electronic office of a conscript and reservist. Instead, such registration is voluntary by the Law
- exclusion of rules relating to the delivery of summons for conscription through the electronic cabinet, including regardless of the person's familiarization with such a summons
- granting post-graduate students the right to deferment due to studying, regardless of at whose expense (funds of state or individual and legal entities) the level of education is obtained
- exclusion of rules that establish the obligation of booked persons to clarify their credentials regarding their booking
