The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine welcomes the adoption of the Order of the Ministry of the Economy of Ukraine approving the Procedure for creating and maintaining a National List of websites of concern regarding the observance of intellectual property rights, on March 21.
Within the framework of the approved Procedure, Ukraine has joined the WIPO Alert initiative, which facilitates the information exchange on potential violations of intellectual property rights internationally. From now on, owners of copyright and/or related rights can submit an appeal to the IP Office and include a website that raises concerns regarding the observance of intellectual property rights to the National List of such websites.
AmCham Media & Communication Committee experts have advocated for developing the Procedure for creating and maintaining a National List of websites of concern regarding the observance of intellectual property rights. This initiative is an essential component of the fight against piracy financing and an important step towards creating a more secure digital space in Ukraine, which will contribute not only to the protection of intellectual property rights but also to the further development of the national economy.
