The Ministry of Health established a Working Group on the development and improvement of regulations in the field of cosmetic products' turnover as was advocated by the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (the Chamber) upon the adoption of the Technical Regulation on Cosmetics (Technical Regulation).
As was stated by the Chamber before, significant changes introduced by the Technical Regulation will require actions from both sides: business and regulator. Companies will need to bring all products into compliance with new requirements (change their labels, compile all the information on the product information files, ensure compliancy with Good Manufacturing Practice, notify all their portfolio in the new system) while the Ministry of Health will need to develop and introduce additional regulatory documents and guidelines, design and launch electronic notification system which will enable cosmetics regulation application. Thus, the Working Group's immediate establishment is crucial to address mentioned and other industry's concerns, in particular double regulation, labeling, safety assessment, etc.
The Chamber experts joined the respective Working Group and look forward to starting the new stage of this important dialogue on proper implementation of the Technical Regulation’s provisions.
