On February 28, 2025, Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Digital Transformation did not support Draft Law #12207 “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improving Cybersecurity Supervision Procedures and Introducing European Cybersecurity Certification Schemes” (Draft Law) and recommended the Parliament to return it to the authors for revision, following the consideration in the first reading.
The Draft Law proposes changes that would give the regulatory authority unlimited discretion in its powers, which would not align with current international standards and the fundamental principles of building a national system of executive authorities.
The business community addressed the Members of Parliament asking not to support the Draft Law due to the above potential negative consequences.
We are grateful to the Members of Parliament, particularly MP Mykhailo Kryachko, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Digital Transformation, for their support of the business community’s vision and their active position on this matter.
AmCham Ukraine hopes that Members of Parliament will support the profile VRU Committee’s decision during the consideration of Draft Law #12207 in the session hall and so will return it to the authors for revision.
