On June 8, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Environmental Policy and Natural Resources Management recommended adopting Draft Law #2207-1-d “On Waste Management” (Draft Law) in the second reading.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (the Chamber) welcomes such VRU Committee’s decision on the Draft Law that will launch the reform of waste management in Ukraine.
At the same time, some provisions of the Draft Law still require improvement. In this context, the Chamber looks forward to continuing fruitful dialogue with stakeholders to elaborate the working solution for resolving such aspects, in particular via other Draft Laws and Bylaws.
The Chamber member companies’ experts were active and provided professional expertise during the development process of the Draft Law. The Chamber will continue to facilitate the process of establishing an efficient waste management system in Ukraine.
