Law firm VB Partners has received the international Pro Bono Firm of the Year award for the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) from the researchers behind the Women in Business Law Awards ranking, in recognition of its ongoing charitable work.
The awards are organized by Legal Benchmarking Group, an international research group, in partnership with the British publication The Lawyer. The awards recognize leaders in the legal market for their achievements in advancing equal rights and opportunities for women, as well as for pro bono work carried out for the benefit of women.
The firm earned the recognition through several ongoing initiatives:
- Support for the #ArmWomenNow project – ongoing assistance in supplying Ukrainian servicewomen with ammunition and body armor adapted to women's anatomy. Every year, around International Women's Day, the firm actively promotes this initiative within the legal community.
- Free legal consultations for international companies on protecting the rights of female employees in occupied territories.
- Long-term pro bono support for an orphaned girl in a case concerning the protection of her property rights.
About VB Partners' Corporate Charitable Work
Beyond these initiatives, the team consistently supports those defending the country, and their families, through charitable foundations established by the firm's partners:
The Lawyers for Lawyers Foundation provides ongoing support to lawyers serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their families: regular payments to mobilized lawyers, and assistance to the families of the fallen and to the relatives of those currently serving. To date, the foundation has directed over UAH 10 million in targeted aid (financial support, equipment and gear).
The Sniper 153 Foundation sponsors the 153rd Sniper Training Center of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, which trains snipers and marksmen to NATO standards. The foundation supplies the Center with transport, equipment and gear, and helps develop its identity and corporate culture.
