Ukraine Business Facilitation Conference by U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration

AmCham Ukraine is proud to serve women business leaders for more than a decade within the Women’s Executives Leadership Development Initiative (WELDI). Empowering, providing opportunities, and supporting leadership aspirations are among our key priorities within the initiative.

AmCham Ukraine Vice President Tetyana Prokopchuk spoke about the importance of business in supporting and rebuilding Ukraine at the kick-off conference, "The Importance of Empowering Women in Rebuilding Ukraine's Economy," organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration and The WMarketplace Inc. within the Ukraine Business Facilitation Program (UBFP).

The conference brought together remarkable women leaders, U.S. and Ukrainian government representatives, and entrepreneurs to share their insights and experiences.

Ambassador Bridget A. Brink, the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, and Ambassador Oksana Markarova, Ukraine's Ambassador to the U.S., highlighted the remarkable strengths Ukrainian women leaders have shown since Russia's full-scale invasion and their crucial role in pushing Ukraine's economy forward.

Marisa Lago, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, and Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, emphasized the need for long-term commitment and engagement between Ukraine and U.S. governments.

The keynote speakers delivered powerful presentations: MaryAnn Robinson, AWE Program Manager at the U.S. State Department, highlighted the importance of empowering women as leaders in economic rebuilding. Vlada Nedak, CEO of the Women's Opportunities Fund, emphasized how economic support can unlock the potential of women across Ukraine.

The Panel Discussion brought together female entrepreneurs who are shaping Ukraine's business landscape: Kate Isler, CEO of WMarketplace, moderated a dynamic discussion with Anna Zmiievska, CEO of Anzy Home, Nadiia Petruchenko, Co-Founder of SPP Development Ukraine, Daria Mustafina, Founder of WMNPower ecosystem, and Iryna Giza, Founder of Scarves with Ukrainian Soul. Their stories of resilience and success have shown the strength of women entrepreneurs in Ukraine.

We are grateful to Agnes Pawelkowska, International Trade Specialist, U.S. Department of Commerce, for hosting the conference and setting the stage for an engaging discussion on women's vital role in Ukraine's economic recovery.
