Vessels inspections in seaports are prohibited in accordance with the Government’s decision to improve the procedure of environmental control over ballast water discharge during vessels’ stay in inland sea waters or territorial sea adopted by CMU Resolution #367 dated March 27, 2019.
However, the environmental inspectors continue to carry out inspections of the vessels at seaports of Ukraine. There are several cases of attempts to get from the vessels’ owners a penalty for "pollution" of the seaport water area by ecological inspectors, illustrated by recent situations.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine urges the Government to pay attention to unlawful vessels inspection in the seaports of Ukraine by the ecologists.
